How to use the Christmas countdown
Nothing to set up: the four boxes show the days, hours, minutes and seconds left until Christmas Day, December 25, and update every second. Under them you find the weekday Christmas falls on this year and the days until Christmas on the calendar, in weeks and in months. If your family celebrates on the evening before, switch to Christmas Eve and the count runs to December 24 instead; the choice is remembered.
Press Full screen (or F) for a big display on a TV or a classroom screen. Print sign prints the days to go in huge numbers, and Print cross-off sheet prints a numbered square for every day left, like a paper chain.
How the countdown is counted
The clock counts to midnight at the start of the day on your device, so it matches your own time zone wherever you are. The calendar line does not count today: on December 24 it says 1 day. On Christmas Day itself the boxes show zero and the page wishes you a merry Christmas, and on December 26 it starts counting to next year.
The cross-off sheet has one square per day left, highest number first. Cross off one square each morning starting tomorrow; the highest number still showing is always the days to go, and the last square goes on the day. Long sheets are cut to the last 120 days.
For a birthday, use the birthday countdown. For any other date, or the days between two dates, use the days until calculator.

Questions
How many days until Christmas?
The big number in the first box, updated every second. The line underneath gives the whole calendar days, where tomorrow counts as 1.
Does the countdown use my time zone?
Yes. It runs on your device's clock, so it reaches zero at midnight where you are.
Can I count down to Christmas Eve instead?
Yes. Press Christmas Eve above the buttons, or press E. Switch back the same way.
Can I put it on a big screen?
Yes. Press Full screen and the countdown fills the display. It keeps running, and the screen stays on where your browser allows it.
