How to use the days until calculator
Pick one of the three tools at the top.
- Countdown: each card counts down to a date, with an optional time. It shows the days to go, the same span in weeks and in months, the weekdays left, and a live count in days, hours, minutes and seconds. Keep as many countdowns as you like (a wedding, a birthday, a trip, retirement) and sort them by the soonest. Quick add buttons set up Christmas, New Year and other fixed dates.
- Days between dates: pick two dates to see the days between them, plus weeks, months, weekdays (Monday to Friday) and weekend days.
- Add or subtract days, a date plus days calculator: pick a start date and a number of days, business days, weeks, months or years, and get the date that falls on, with its day of the week. Count down to this date turns the answer into a countdown.
Everything is saved in your browser as you go. For the other direction, counting how long it has been since something happened, use the days since counter. To convert a time between cities, use the time zone converter.
How the days are counted
The count uses calendar dates, so daylight saving time never adds or loses a day. Between two dates, the start date is counted and the end date is not, so from October 7 to October 23 is 16 days; tick Count the end date too to include both. A countdown shows 0 on the day itself, and "days ago" once the date has passed. Months follow the calendar: one month after January 31 is the last day of February.
Business days are Monday to Friday. The calculator does not know public holidays, because they differ by country and employer, so add your days off under Business days: dates to skip and they are left out of both the business day count and the business day date.
Showing a countdown on a screen or on paper
Show as sign puts one countdown full screen in huge type, with the live time left, for a TV at an office, a classroom or a party. Print sign prints it as a one-page notice, and Print list prints every countdown with its date and the days to go. Share link sends your countdowns and dates to someone else; opening it adds them to their own list.

Questions
Does the countdown include today?
No. It counts the days left after today, so a date tomorrow shows 1 day to go and the day itself shows 0. The live count below it shows the exact hours and minutes.
How many days between two dates, counting both?
Open Days between dates, pick both dates and tick Count the end date too. Without the tick, the start date is counted and the end date is not, which is how most date calculators count.
Can I set a countdown to date and time, like 6 pm on the day?
Yes. Add a time to any countdown card. The day count stays in whole calendar days, and the live line counts down the exact hours, minutes and seconds to that time.
How many weeks until a date?
Every countdown shows the days as weeks and days too, for example 9 weeks, 5 days. For weeks between any two dates, use Days between dates.
Are public holidays counted as business days?
Only if you do not list them. Add each holiday or day off under Business days: dates to skip and it is taken out.
What date is 90 days from today?
Open Add or subtract days, leave the start date as today, type 90 and choose Days. The answer updates as you type, with the day of the week.
Is my countdown saved?
Yes, in your browser, after every change. Nothing is sent to a server. Share link puts the countdowns in the link itself if you want to send them to someone.
