Mantra Counter
Name the mantra you are repeating and tap once for every repetition. The counter keeps the running total, today's total and a history of your sessions.
Chart: totals per day
Settings: sounds and options
History: last 50 sessions
No sessions yet. A session is saved here when you press Reset or switch to another count.
How to use the mantra counter
The counter opens on Free count: every tap (or press of Space) adds one repetition to the number in the circle, with no rounds and no limit. Type the name of the mantra in the box at the top and it appears under the number and in the history, which helps if you count more than one mantra.
To count in rounds instead, press 108 beads, 54 beads, 27 beads or Custom. The circle then fills bead by bead, a tune marks each finished round, and Target rounds lets you set how many rounds you want to complete, with a badge that turns green when you get there.
This session, Today and the history each keep their own totals, so you always know how many repetitions you have done so far today. Chanting with a physical 108 bead mala? The japa counter starts on rounds of 108, and for dhikr phrases there is the tasbih counter.
Totals, history and your data
A session runs until you press Reset or switch to another count. It then goes into the history with the date, the mantra name, the number of repetitions and any rounds, and the last 50 sessions are kept. Download CSV exports them for a spreadsheet, and Chart: totals per day draws the repetitions of each of the last 14 days as bars.
Everything is stored in your browser on this device. There is no account and nothing is sent to a server, so clearing your browser data also clears the counter. Share link copies only the setup (the count type, mantra name and target), never your numbers.
The mantra counter counts; it gives no advice on what to recite or how often, and makes no claims about the benefits of any practice.

Questions
Does the mantra counter make a sound on each tap?
No, taps are silent by default. You can turn on a click for every count in the settings. The only other sound is a short tune at the end of a round or when you reach your target, and the Sound button turns that off too.
Can I keep separate counts for two mantras?
The counter runs one session at a time. Press Reset when you finish one mantra, change the name, and start the next: each session is saved in the history under its own name, with its own total.
How do I set a daily goal?
Choose a round size (for example 108 beads) and type the number of rounds in Target rounds. The badge shows your progress and turns green when the target is reached. The Today figure adds up every repetition counted today.
