How to use the scoreboard
Tap a team's big score to add a point, or use +1 and −1. Type the team names at the top of each side and tap the dot to change a team's colour. Start runs the clock, Edit time (or a tap on the clock) sets it to any time, and Next moves to the next period and resets the clock. When a countdown reaches zero the horn sounds.
In Settings you can call the periods quarters, halves, innings, rounds or sets, switch the clock to count up, hide the clock, and set the period length. Swap sides moves the teams when they change ends, and Undo steps back through every change.
Keeping score for a basketball or volleyball game? The basketball scoreboard adds fouls, timeouts and quarters, and the volleyball scoreboard decides sets for you. For more than two players or teams, use the score keeper.
Keyboard shortcuts
- A or ←: one point to the team on the left
- L or →: one point to the team on the right
- Shift with any of those: take a point off
- Space: start or pause the clock
- P: next period
- S: swap sides
- U or Ctrl+Z: undo
- F: full screen
- M: sound on or off
Holding a key down scores once, so a stuck key cannot run the score away.
Showing it on a TV or projector
Open this page on a laptop connected to the TV or projector and press Full screen (or F): the scores grow to fill the screen. Keep the laptop in front of you and score with the keyboard, so nobody has to reach the screen. Keep screen on stops the display from going to sleep in browsers that support it. The clock keeps the right time even if you refresh the page or switch tabs, because it works from the time it was started.
Open display window opens a second window that shows only the scoreboard, in big type on black, and follows every change you make here. Drag it to the TV or projector connected to the same computer, press Full screen in it, and keep scoring in this window. Share link copies the teams, settings and score, and Chart draws the score over the game.
Questions
Can I use this as a timer only?
Yes. Set the period length in Settings, press Start, and the horn sounds at zero. Switch the clock to Count up to use it as a stopwatch instead.
Will I lose the score if the page reloads?
No. The score, period and clock are saved in your browser after every change, and a running clock keeps running across a refresh. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I show it on one device and control it from another?
On one computer, yes: press Open display window, drag that window to the TV or projector and keep scoring in the first window. Across two devices, no, because nothing leaves your browser.
Can I download the score history?
Press Download CSV for a list of every point with the time, period, team and the score after it.
