How to use the score keeper
Type each player's name on their card and tap the dot to change their colour. Add up to 10 players with + Add player. Tap a big total, or +1, to add a point, and −1 to take one off. For bigger scores, type the points in the box under the player and press Add or Enter. Type a negative number, such as -20, to subtract.
Everything you add goes into the current round. When the round is over, press Next round. The table below the cards shows every round, one column per player, with the totals at the bottom. The leader is outlined. Undo steps back through every change, and New game clears the scores but keeps the players.
Chart: running total by round, under the tool, draws each player's total round by round. Share link copies a link with the players, settings and totals. Open display window is for a TV or projector connected to the same computer: drag the new window to that screen and put it in full screen. It shows a large leaderboard that updates as you score here.
For two teams on a TV, the online scoreboard shows huge scores and a clock. Some games have their own tool with the scoring rules built in: the golf score counter, the bowling score calculator, the life counter for card games, and the basketball scoreboard.
Keyboard shortcuts
- 1 to 9: add one point to that player
- Shift+1 to 9: take one point off
- N: next round
- U or Ctrl+Z: undo
- F: full screen
- M: sound on or off
Setting it up for your game
- Race to a total: set a Target score in Settings. When a player reaches it, the score keeper plays a tune and names the winner.
- Games where fewer points is better: tick Lowest score wins and set the target at which the game ends. When anyone reaches it, the player with the lowest total wins.
- Counting down: set the Start score to the number everyone begins with, set the target to 0, tick Lowest score wins, and enter scores as negative numbers.
Your game is saved in your browser as you go, so a refresh or a closed tab never loses it. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Questions
How do I fix a score I entered wrong?
Press Undo (or U) to step back one change at a time, including a new round, a removed player or a new game. You can also type a negative number in the player's box to take points off.
How many players can I add?
From 2 to 10. On a phone the players sit two to a row, and the round table scrolls sideways when there are many players.
What does Lowest score wins change?
The outline moves to the player with the fewest points, and when someone reaches the target score the game ends with the lowest total as the winner.
Can I save or print the scores?
Press Print sheet for the round by round table with totals and the winner, or Print blank sheet for 20 empty rounds to fill in by hand. Download CSV gives the same table for Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Once the page has loaded it keeps working without internet, and in Chrome or Edge you can press Install app to add it to your home screen or desktop.
