How to use the basketball scoreboard

Use +1, +2 and +3 under each team for free throws, field goals and three-pointers, or tap the big score to add one. Foul adds a team foul and Timeout uses one of the team's timeouts and pauses the clock. Start runs the game clock, which shows tenths of a second in the last minute, and the horn sounds at zero.

Next moves to the next quarter or half, resets the clock and sets team fouls back to zero. After the last regular period it goes to overtime (OT1, OT2 and so on). The Possession button points to the team that gets the next alternating possession: tap it to switch.

For other sports, the plain online scoreboard has a clock and any period name, and the volleyball scoreboard handles sets and serve.

For the crowd, Open display window puts a read-only board in its own window: both scores, the game clock, the quarter, team fouls, bonus, timeouts left and the possession arrow. Move that window onto the gym TV or projector plugged into your laptop and make it fill the screen. Share link sends the teams and score to another coach; Chart plots both scores through the game.

Set it up for your league

Game length, periods, overtime, foul limits and timeouts differ between leagues and age groups, so they are all settings. Set the length your league uses in Period length (12 minutes by default), choose 4 quarters or 2 halves, and set the Overtime length.

Bonus appears on a team once the other team reaches the number of team fouls you set (5 by default) in the current period. The bonus rule varies by league, so check yours. Team fouls reset at every new period, including overtime. Timeouts do not refill on their own: use Refill timeouts in Settings when your league gives new ones.

Questions

How do I correct the clock?

Tap the clock or press Edit time, type the minutes and seconds, and press Set time. Reset clock puts it back to the full period length.

Does the clock stop for fouls and free throws?

Only when you pause it. Press Pause or Space whenever the clock should stop. Using a timeout pauses it for you.

What if I add points to the wrong team?

Press Undo (or U) to take the last action back. Undo also covers fouls, timeouts, periods and a new game.

Can I show it on a TV?

Yes. Connect a laptop to the TV, press Open display window, drag the new window to the TV and press Full screen in it. The TV shows only the scoreboard while you score on the laptop. Swap sides moves the teams when they change ends at half time.
