Stitch Counter

Tap once per stitch as you knit or crochet. The counter tells you when the row has the right number of stitches and keeps a list of every row you finish.

How to use the stitch counter

Tap the big number (or press Space) for every stitch you work. At the end of the row press Next row (or N): the row goes into the Rows so far list and the stitch count goes back to 0 for the next row.

Open Settings for this project and enter the Stitches per row target from your pattern, for example 48. When you reach it the counter plays a short tune, vibrates and turns green. Tick Go to the next row automatically if you want it to start the next row on its own at that point.

If you only need to count rows and pattern repeats, the row counter is simpler.

Finding a short row, and shaping

The Rows so far list shows every finished row with its stitch count and the target at the time, and marks any row that came out short or over. That makes a dropped stitch or an extra one easy to trace back to the row where it happened. Download CSV saves the list for a spreadsheet.

When a row has shaping, press + inc for each increase and − dec for each decrease. These buttons do not change the stitch count; they record the shaping so the counter can show how many stitches the next row should have, for example "+2 inc. Next row: 50 stitches". With Carry increases and decreases ticked, the next row's target is updated for you.

Chart: stitches per row draws each finished row as a bar, with short rows in red and rows over the target in blue. Print sheet prints the rows list; Print blank sheet prints an empty stitch log with 30 rows. Share link copies a link to the current project that opens as a new project, never over an existing one.

What is the difference between this and the row counter?

This page counts the stitches inside each row and keeps a row-by-row record. The row counter counts whole rows, with pattern repeats, a total rows target and a second counter. Use whichever matches what your pattern asks you to track.

I pressed Next row too early. Can I go back?

Yes. Press Undo (or U) and the row comes back with its stitch count, as if you had not pressed Next row.

Can I start from a row other than 1?

Yes. In Settings for this project, change Current row number to the row you are on. New rows count up from there.

Is my work saved?

Yes. Every tap is saved in your browser straight away, so a refresh or a closed tab keeps your place. Up to 30 projects are kept, each with its own rows, target and notes. Nothing is sent to a server.
