How to use the backgammon score keeper
Type both names and set the match length in Settings (7 points by default). Each player's card shows their match score and how many points they still need, such as 3 away. When a game ends, tap the winner's result: Single, Gammon or Backgammon. Each button shows the points it is worth with the cube as it stands, and the table below keeps every game with the cube value and the running score.
To double, a player taps Double on their own card. The cube box then asks the other player to Take or Pass. A take doubles the cube and gives it to the taker, who is the only one who can redouble. A pass ends the game there: the doubler wins the cube value from before the double. The cube goes back to 1 in the middle after every game.
The chart draws both match scores game by game. Print blank sheet prints a backgammon match score sheet with game, result, cube and score columns; Print sheet prints the match so far, and Share link sends it to someone else. For other two player games there is a cribbage score keeper, and for anything else the general score keeper.
Backgammon scoring and the Crawford rule
- Single game: 1 point.
- Gammon: 2 points, when the loser has not borne off any checkers.
- Backgammon: 3 points, when the loser has not borne off any checkers and still has one on the bar or in the winner's home board.
- Doubling cube: the points for the game are multiplied by the cube value (2, 4, 8 and so on, up to 64).
- Match: the first player to reach the match length wins.
- Crawford rule (a setting, on by default): the first time a player gets to one point from the match, the next game is played without the cube. The keeper marks that game and turns the double buttons off. Doubling is allowed again in later games.
The Jacoby rule belongs to money play, not to matches, so the keeper does not use it.

Questions
How are points scored in backgammon?
A normal win is 1 point, a gammon 2 and a backgammon 3, and all of them are multiplied by the value on the doubling cube. A game won because the other player passed a double is worth the cube value before that double.
What is the Crawford game?
In match play, when one player first gets to one point short of winning the match, the next game is played without the doubling cube. The keeper works out which game that is and flags it. You can turn the rule off in Settings.
Can I change the match length during a match?
Yes. The games already played stay, and the keeper checks the score against the new length straight away.
I pressed the wrong result. What now?
Press Undo (or U). It takes back the last game, double, take or pass, one step at a time. The match is saved in this browser, so a refresh does not lose it.
