How to use the baseball scoreboard
This is a baseball score keeper for a game you are playing or watching in person, from Little League to a backyard game. It does not show live professional scores. Type the two team names: the visitors bat first, in the top of each inning, and the home team bats in the bottom.
Tap Ball, Strike and Foul pitch by pitch, and Out for every out. Tap the three bases on the diamond to show who is on. +1 Run adds a run to the batting team in the current inning, Hit adds to their H column and Error goes to the fielding team. Home run scores the batter and every runner on base and clears the bases. After a hit, a fielder's choice or a hit by pitch, move the runners yourself and press New batter to clear the count if needed.
For a crowd, Open display window shows the whole line score like a stadium board in a second window you can drag onto a TV. Print sheet prints the filled line score, and Print blank sheet gives four empty line scores for the next games. A seven-inning version is on the softball scoreboard, and the plain online scoreboard suits any other sport.
Rules the scoreboard follows
Four balls is a walk: the batter goes to first, only forced runners move up, and with the bases loaded a run scores. Three strikes is an out. A foul adds a strike only while the batter has fewer than two, so a foul with two strikes leaves the count alone (a foul bunt with two strikes is a strikeout: press Out). Any out, hit or walk clears the count, and three outs end the half inning, which also clears the bases.
A game is 9 innings, and you can set fewer in Settings. If the home team leads after the top of the last inning, the game ends and an X goes in its last box. If the home team takes the lead in the bottom of the last inning or of extra innings, the game ends at once. A tie after the last inning goes to extra innings, and the line score adds columns as needed. A mercy rule is off by default because the run lead and the inning differ from league to league: turn it on in Settings and enter your league's numbers.

Holding a key down only counts once.
Questions
Can I see live MLB scores here?
No. This page is a scoreboard you run yourself for a game you are at. Nothing is looked up online, and the score stays in your browser.
How do I fix a mistake?
Press Undo or U. Every pitch, run, out, base change and inning change can be undone, one step at a time.
Why does an error count for the other team?
In a line score the E column shows errors a team made while fielding, so an error during the top half goes to the home team.
How do I put the score on a TV?
With a laptop connected to the TV, press Open display window, move the new window onto the TV screen and press Full screen there. Keep scoring in the first window and the board follows.
