How to use the cornhole scoreboard

After both sides have thrown their four bags, tap + next to In the hole for every bag that went through the hole and next to On the board for every bag still resting on the board. The line under the buttons shows what each side threw, and the preview above Score inning says who scores and how much. Press Score inning (or Enter) and the scores update, the inning is added to the list, and the Throws first marker moves to the side that scored.

Type the player or team names over Blue and Red, and tap the coloured dot to change a colour. Open display window shows a large read-only board for a TV at a tournament or a backyard party, Print sheet gives a paper record of every inning, and Share link sends the names and score to someone else. The chart plots both scores inning by inning. For other games at the same party, try the shuffleboard score keeper or the plain online scoreboard.

Cornhole scoring rules this scoreboard follows

A bag in the hole is worth 3 points and a bag on the board is worth 1. Each side throws four bags per inning. With cancellation scoring, the two totals cancel each other out and only the side with more points scores, and only the difference: 7 points against 4 points scores 3 for the first side. Equal totals are a wash and nobody scores. It is a game to 21: the first side to reach 21 at the end of an inning wins, and going past 21 still counts. The side that scored throws first in the next inning; after a wash, the same side throws first again. You can override the marker with the Throws first buttons.

Backyard and house rules vary, so these are settings and all start switched off. Exact score to win is a backyard variant: going over 21 is a bust, and the score drops back to 11, 13 or 15, or the inning scores nothing, as you choose. Win by 2 keeps the game going until a side leads by two. Skunk ends the game early when one side reaches a set score (11 by default) while the other still has 0. Agree on the house rules before the first bag.

What is cancellation scoring in cornhole?

Both sides count their points for the inning, then the smaller total is taken off the larger one. Only the side with more points scores, and only the difference. It is how the scoreboard works by default, so you just enter the bags.

What happens if a team goes over 21?

In standard play the game is over and the score stands, for example 23 to 15. If your group plays the backyard rule that you must land exactly on 21, turn on Exact score to win in Settings and pick where a bust sends the score.

Can I fix a mistake from an earlier inning?

Press Undo (or U) to step back one action at a time, including a scored inning or a new game. The whole game is replayed from the inning list, so the totals always match what was entered.

Does it work for doubles?

Yes. Each side can be one player or a team of two: type the team names over Blue and Red. Enter the four bags thrown by that side from the board you are standing at.
