How to use the gin rummy score sheet
Type the two names. When a hand ends, choose who ended it, then Knock or Gin. For a knock, type the knocker's deadwood and the opponent's deadwood after laying off; for gin, only the opponent's deadwood. The line under the form says what will happen before you commit, for example that the knock is an undercut. Press Score this hand. If the stock runs out and nobody knocks, choose Dead hand and score it; nobody gets points and the hand is kept in the table.
Each card shows the points so far and how many hands that player has won. When someone reaches the target, the sheet adds the box bonus for every hand won and the game bonus for the winner, and shows the final score and the margin. The Deadwood counter under the tool adds up unmatched cards as you tap them. For games with more players, the rummy score keeper handles penalty and 500 rummy scoring.
Print blank sheet prints a gin rummy score sheet with points and total columns for both players and the scoring rules at the bottom. Print sheet, Download CSV and Share link keep a record of the game.
Gin rummy scoring on this sheet
The defaults follow common rules. Groups vary on the bonus values, so each one is a setting.
- Knock: allowed with 10 or fewer deadwood points (the knock limit). The knocker scores the difference between the two deadwood counts.
- Undercut: if the opponent's deadwood is equal to or lower than the knocker's, the opponent scores the difference plus an undercut bonus of 25.
- Gin: no deadwood at all. The player scores a gin bonus of 25 plus the opponent's deadwood, and the opponent cannot lay off cards. Gin cannot be undercut.
- Card values: ace 1, number cards their face value, jack, queen and king 10.
- Game: first to 100. Then each player gets a box bonus of 25 for every hand they won, and the winner adds a game bonus of 100.

Questions
What is an undercut in gin rummy?
It happens when a player knocks but the opponent, after laying off, has the same or less deadwood. The opponent then scores the difference plus the undercut bonus, 25 by default. The sheet spots it from the two numbers you type.
What are box bonuses?
Also called line bonuses: at the end of the game each player gets a bonus for every hand they won, 25 per hand by default. The sheet counts the hands won as you go and adds the bonuses when someone reaches the target.
Our group plays gin to 150 with a 20 point gin bonus. Can I change that?
Yes. The target, the knock limit and every bonus are in Settings, and the totals are worked out again straight away.
Is the game saved?
Yes, in this browser after every hand. Nothing is sent anywhere, and a refresh does not lose the game.
