How to use the hand and foot score sheet
Name the sides at the top (two partnerships by default; + Add player goes up to six sides for individual play). At the end of a hand, fill in each side's card: tap + for every clean book and every dirty book it finished, count the red threes it laid down, then enter the card points it has on the table and the card points it is still holding in its hand and foot. Tap Went out on the side that ended the hand. The card shows what the hand is worth while you type, split into books, red threes, going out and cards.
Press Score this hand and the numbers move into the table, one row per hand, with the totals underneath. The sheet names the winner when the last hand is scored. Undo takes back any step, so a mistyped hand is never a problem. Totting up a big pile goes faster with the Card points helper below the sheet: tap the cards one by one, then send the sum to a side.
For paper, Print blank sheet makes a hand and foot score sheet with bonus, card and total columns for each side; Print sheet prints the game so far. Share link puts the whole game in a link, and the chart draws each side's running total. Playing the classic two-deck partnership game instead? The canasta score sheet knows its own bonuses and first meld minimums.
Hand and foot scoring and settings
Hand and foot is played with a lot of house rules, so every value on this sheet is a setting. The defaults are common values:
- Clean book (no wild cards): 500. Dirty book (with wild cards): 300.
- Red three: 100 each.
- Going out: 100.
- Card values in the helper: jokers 50; twos and aces 20; kings down to eights 10; sevens down to fours 5; black threes 5. Cards on the table add to the side's score, and cards still held are taken off it.
- Game length: a fixed number of hands (4 by default) or a target score. The highest total wins.
If your group scores something the sheet has no field for, such as a bonus for a wild card book or a penalty, type it in Other points, plus or minus. It is added to that side's hand as it is.

Questions
What is the difference between a clean and a dirty book?
A clean book (also called a natural book) has no wild cards in it. A dirty book (a mixed book) has at least one joker or 2 in it. Clean books are worth more, 500 against 300 by default here.
Do I count the cards in my books as well as the book bonus?
In the usual scoring, yes. The book bonus goes in the book counters, and the point value of every card on the table, books included, goes in melded card points. If your group does not count the cards, leave that field empty.
What does the opening meld need to be?
The minimum count for a first meld changes from group to group and often from hand to hand, so this sheet does not check it. Agree on it before you deal.
Is my game saved if I close the page?
Yes. Every change is saved in this browser straight away, and nothing is sent to a server. Come back later and the sheet is where you left it.
