How to use the spacebar counter
Open the page and press the Space bar. With No limit picked, each press adds one and the total is saved in your browser, so you can come back to it later. Under the number you see your average pace and the time from your first press to your last.
For a spacebar clicker test, pick 1, 5, 10, 30, 60 or 100 seconds. The timer starts on your first press and stops by itself; your score in presses per second appears straight away, and the best score for each length is kept. On a phone or tablet with no keyboard, tap the big box instead.
Reset count sets the no-limit count back to zero (Undo brings it back). Download CSV saves your timed tests and the current count.
What counts as one press
One press is the key going down. Holding the Space bar does not count again: the automatic repeat your keyboard sends while a key is held is ignored, so only real taps are counted. The page also stops the Space bar from scrolling the page or pressing a button you clicked earlier.
In a timed test the score is presses divided by seconds, rounded to two decimals, so 60 presses in 10 seconds is 6 presses per second. Presses after the time has run out are not counted, and the box waits a moment before a new test can start. With no time limit the average is worked out from the first press to the last, so a break between presses lowers it but time spent away afterwards does not.

Questions
Does holding the Space bar count?
No. Only the first moment the key goes down counts. Let go and press again for the next one.
Is the count saved if I close the tab?
Yes. The no-limit count is saved in your browser after every press and is there when you come back. Nothing is sent to a server.
Can I use it on a phone?
Yes. Tap the big box. Each tap counts like a press of the Space bar.
Why did pressing Space not count?
Space does not count while you are typing in a box, such as a settings field. Click anywhere on the page outside the field, or press Esc, then carry on.
