How to use the lacrosse scoreboard
Each time a team scores, press +1 Goal or tap the big number. Start runs the clock down from 15:00 and sounds the horn at zero; Next takes you to the next quarter and then to overtime. Timeout stops the clock and takes one of that team's timeouts; Refill timeouts for both teams in Settings gives each team a fresh set when your rules allow it.
For a foul, press 30 s, 1 min or 2 min under the team that must play a player down. A chip appears and counts down only while the game clock runs. When a penalty ends early, for example after a goal on a releasable foul, tap the chip to clear it. Undo brings back anything you tapped by mistake.
Open display window opens a black, read-only board for a TV or projector with the clock, the score and every penalty. Chart draws the score through the game and Download CSV saves each goal with its time and quarter. Playing on grass with a stick and a smaller ball? The field hockey scoreboard handles cards and corners.
Settings for your league
Men's, women's, high school, college and box lacrosse do not share one format, so the board keeps the format in Settings. Choose 4 quarters or 2 halves under Game format, type your period length, the number of timeouts per team and the overtime length. The clock can also count up instead of down.
Some leagues count a goal scored from beyond a marked line as 2 points. Tick Two-point goals to add a +2 button under each team; those goals are marked as two-point goals in the CSV file. Leave it off and every goal counts one.
Penalty lengths and release rules differ by level, so the board does not end a penalty on its own when a goal is scored. Clear the chip when your rules say the player may return.
Keyboard shortcuts
- A or ←: goal for the left side; L or →: goal for the right side; add Shift to take it back
- 1 to 4: the left team's Goal, 30 s, 1 min and 2 min buttons (with two-point goals on: Goal, +2, 30 s, 1 min, 2 min on 1 to 5); 6 and up: the same for the right team
- Space: run or stop the clock; P: next period
- S: switch ends; U or Ctrl+Z: undo; F: full screen; M: mute
Questions
Can I use it for women's or box lacrosse?
Yes. The rules that change between them, such as halves or quarters, period length, timeouts and overtime, are all in Settings. Set them once and the board remembers them in your browser.
How many penalties can run at once?
Up to 8 timers per team. Each one counts down on its own and disappears with a beep when it reaches zero.
Does a timeout stop the penalty timers?
Yes. Penalty chips follow the game clock, and a timeout stops the clock, so the chips wait until play restarts.
Can I show the scoreboard on a TV?
Press Open display window, drag the new window to the TV or projector and press Full screen there. Keep scoring in the first window and the display follows.
